Deliverables

7 slides and caption

The work

01

Lower-left placement, always
Text anchored to the same corner across every slide so the eye learns where to land, a small consistency that makes a 7-slide story feel more authentic.

02

The gold rule as a signature
A simple hairline detail on every slide to reflect the brass fixtures in the museum itself, and a throughline that connects the current plant series, and future content properties to develop a recognizable and trusted brand for Carter House.

03

Patina over polish
I opted for a desaturated, slightly uneven colour treatment instead of more modern filters to create a sense of content that feels atmospheric and organic, and echoes the historical context.

04

Display serif at scale
Large-format serif type does the emotional work a photo caption can’t. The scale and placement replicate an exhibit placard.

Process

Every slide starts as a wireframe
Placement, heirarchy, and rule weight are decided before the image is chosen to ensure the visual language holds up even when the source photo changes.
